Meet Our Owner

Amanda Rubine is a former Language Arts teacher with a passion for creativity and art. Crafting, painting, and creating has always been the best outlet for Amanda and her family. Her dream of becoming a business owner became reality in 2021. The pandemic made her reevaluate her future plans and she decided to officially go for it and make the first move! She took her passion of teaching and art and:

Shmooze Plaster Crafts was born.

Wondering where the name Shmooze came from? Amanda has always called her husband Jason, Shmoo, or Shmooie. Their mutual dream was to run a business together…thus the name Shmooze!

The Rubine Family

Jason and Amanda married in 2008 and have two amazing children together (Alicia, 9 and Jacob, 11). One of their family rules is to always share their hobbies with each other. With crafting being Amanda’s favorite hobby, she introduced it to her children at a very young age. It’s something that they have always enjoyed doing together, bringing them closer together and making wonderful memories that they can cherish forever. The Rubines are excited to share their love of crafting with other families!

Our mission is to create a friendly and fun place for all ages to come and express their creativity. We hope to have others think of our studio as a place to come to be able to express their feelings, unleash their creative side, and promote communication between family, friends and coworkers.
